Privacy policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026
Wubbin is a small project that gives everyone one little task a day. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we keep the data small. If you have a question, email hello@wubbin.com.
Who runs Wubbin
Wubbin is operated by Lara Ferroni in the United States (Colorado). When we say "we" or "us" below, that's who you're dealing with. You can reach us any time at hello@wubbin.com.
You must be 13 or older
Wubbin is for people aged 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.
What we collect
We collect information to run your account and daily tasks, plus optional measurement data when you allow it:
- Your email address. This is how you sign in — we send you a one-time magic link instead of a password.
- Your name, if you choose to add one. It's optional.
- Your Wubbin history — which tasks you marked done, the date and the time you completed each one, and any optional note or link you attach.
- Photos you upload to a completion. These are optional and private to your account (see below).
- Your time zone, so "today's task" lines up with your actual day.
- Basic technical data — things like your IP address and request logs — created automatically when you use the site, used for security and to keep the service running.
With your permission, we use Google Ads to measure which advertisements lead to completed signups. Advertising measurement is off until you accept it, and can be turned off in Settings. We may use privacy-respecting product analytics to understand how Wubbin is used; when we do, it's listed under "Services we use" below and any non-essential analytics cookies are set only if you accept them.
How we use it
- Send you the magic link that signs you in.
- Show you today's task and remember what you've completed.
- Let you look back on your history and share a day if you choose to.
- Keep the service secure and working, and fix problems.
- Reply to you when you contact us.
- With your permission, measure which ads lead to signups.
Services we use
We use the providers below to operate Wubbin and, with your permission, measure how people find and use it. Each receives the information needed for the service described here.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosts our servers and database, where your account and Wubbin history are stored, and sends our email through Amazon SES (your magic sign-in links and account emails). Data is held in the United States.
- Cloudflare — three roles: it stores the photos you upload (Cloudflare R2), it runs the "are you human" check on sign-in and waitlist forms (Turnstile, which receives your IP address to do that), and it handles our domain and network traffic.
- Sentry — error monitoring, used only if enabled. When on, it receives technical details about crashes so we can fix them; it is configured not to send personal profile data.
- Google Ads — optional advertising measurement, described below.
- PostHog — product analytics, used only if enabled. When on, it records how features are used (for example, which pages you visit and actions you take) so we can improve Wubbin. Analytics is off unless you accept it, and you can turn it on or off at any time from the Analytics section of your account settings.
Advertising measurement
If you allow advertising measurement, the Google Ads tag uses cookies and receives technical data such as your IP address, browser information, page URL, ad-click identifiers, and whether you completed signup. This helps us understand which ads bring people to Wubbin. Our signup event does not include your email, name, photos, or sign-in token, and we disable ad personalization in this tag.
The tag does not load before you accept advertising measurement. You can decline the cookie notice or turn off Advertising measurement in Settings at any time. Your choice applies to the current browser; declining does not affect your account or essential sign-in cookies. Withdrawing consent does not undo data already sent to Google.
See how Google uses information from sites that use its services for details about Google's processing and privacy controls.
Your photos are private
Photos you attach to a completion are private to your account. We use them only to help you remember what you did. We strip location (GPS) and other embedded metadata from photos when you upload them, and we serve them over short-lived private links, not public URLs. We do not currently offer photo sharing; if we ever add it, it will be opt-in.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not use it to train AI models.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data and Wubbin history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data, including your photos, except where we must keep something to comply with the law. Backups and error logs age out on their own schedule.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can email us at hello@wubbin.com to access, correct, export, or delete your data. You can also delete your account yourself from the account page. We won't discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
If you're in the EU, EEA, or UK (GDPR): our legal basis for processing is to perform our agreement with you (running your account and the daily task) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure. We rely on your consent for optional advertising measurement and analytics; you can withdraw it in Settings. You also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Your data is stored in the United States; we transfer it there relying on appropriate safeguards.
If you're in California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We disclose information to the providers described above, including Google only when you allow advertising measurement. The categories we collect are your identifiers (email, name), your user content (notes, links, photos), and internet/technical activity (IP, logs, and optional ad-click and cookie identifiers).
If you're in Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, or another US state with a privacy law: you have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and get a copy of your data, and to opt out of targeted advertising and sale — none of which we do. Email us to exercise them. If we ever deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
Security
We use encryption in transit, private storage for photos, and access controls to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data we hold small on purpose, which is the best protection of all.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll do more to let you know. Continuing to use Wubbin after a change means you accept the updated policy.
